Caroline month 2

It is so hard to believe that Caroline is 10 weeks old. I swore I would never be a parent who thought every milestone my child hit was amazing---- but I totally am. I think she is absolutely amazing and that everything she does is wonderful! She is already weighs 12.10 (90th percentile) 23.25 inches long (85th percentile)

She is very Strong. She loves to be in a sitting up position(we just started using the bumbo), putting weight on her feet and looking around. She smiles all the time, and when she is really excited she will laugh. She sleeps for about 8 hours every night (we know we are beyond blessed for this) She is wearing 3-6 months clothes. She is not a very good day time sleeper. This means she usually falls apart with a wicked crying spell every night about 8. She has found her hands and loves to put them in her mouth sometimes both at the same time. She makes all kinds of cute noises!

(I told you at the beginning I thought she was amazing)

Overall being a mom is the best thing ever! Her are some pictures!

Things have changed so much in just one month. We can't believe that it has already been a month already, yet it feels like forever in other regards. Anyway C-doggy, as I often refer to her as is doing great! We went to her one month Dr. Appointment this week. She went ahead and once again peed all over the table for the third appointment in a row!! She now weighs 10.9 (90 percentile) is 22 inches long (70 percentile) She is a big girl and seems to be growing fast. She can no longer wear newborn size clothes, and fits nicely into 3 months! She is very alert and loves to look around. She loves her swing and bath. During bath time she put her head in the water and wiggles all around....it is very cute! She will sleep for 5 to 6 hours almost every night! She has a really Strong neck and does not need much head support at all! I have gotten much braver with her! I now will take her on errands by myself. I am still getting use to how much stuff we have to take every time we go someplace. I am sure we will get better with time an practice!

Baby Caroline is doing great! Pat and I can't believe how much she has changed in just over a week. She is such a good baby, I hope she keeps this up! Last night she slept for 6 hours straight!! We were really excited about this. She is much more alert during the day. She seems to love all of the dark wood in our house. The banister, ceiling fan, and bar stools are her favorite things to look at! She also has made her mark at the pediatrician. She went two times over the last week, and both times decided to pee all over the examination table! It was quite funny! The nurse told us it happens all the time!

I can't stop taking pictures so I have tons to share!!

Caroline is here and we are very excited. Tuesday evening I started having strong contractions. I went to bed thinking it was going to be like the night before. At 2 o'clock I woke up and was sure I was in labor. An hour later I woke Pat up to tell him we needed to go to the hospital. By the time we got the the "test room" at the hospital I was already past 5 cm dilated. The Dr. said that we could start the epidural. After that things seemed to go really fast. I spent the morning finishing dilating, while Pat and I played cards, and read people magazine. My epidural was amazing I really had no pain! Then when it was time to push, we had to wait for the doctor. We started pushing at 2:15 and she was here by 2:45. For first time labor, with what I am told is a by everyone at the hospital is very big baby girl, it went really easy and smooth!

I can't tell you how blessed I feel. We are both so in love with her. Pat is an amazing dad, so hands on, and learning everything that he needs to. He and I have been working really well together, and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful husband! She is amazing, I can't believe how in love with her I am. I just look at her and can't believe that she is my daughter. God has really blessed my family.

Still Waiting....but with news!

Caroline's due date as come and gone, everyones predictions as to when she will be here have passed, including both Pat's and mine. Over the past few days I have learned that I am A. not good at waiting B. that I like know when things are happening and definite dates. C. I do not do not sit around well.
Anyway, we went to the doctor today. We went ahead and scheduled an induction for Thursday morning. We are worried that if we wait any longer that she could be too big for me to deliver. We will keep everyone updated on this weeks developments!

Dear Caroline, When are you coming?

It has been a week of waiting for Patrick and me...and we are still waiting! On Monday I went to the Dr. and she was shocked at how fast I had progressed from last week. She told me I was dilated 2.5 cm was 80% effaced and that Caroline has moved into the proper position. She also said expected she would come sometime this week. So everyday we have waited. On Wednesday night I had really strong contractions and was sure she was on her way...But at 3 am everything stopped. Needless to say I was disappointed, at this point I am really feeling ready to have this baby. As soon as we have news we promise to post! Please think thoughts of having a baby soon for us!

Big Baby!

Today we went for an ultrasound for baby Caroline! We found out what the Dr. suspected was true and that she is going to be a big baby. She already weighs close to 8 pounds with her due date about two weeks away! When I said that does not sound too big they informed me that she is in the 82 percentile at this time! Even with this news the Dr. said that there is a good chance that she will go past her due date! She promised not too far, which made me happy to hear. It was very fun to see this ultrasound, the technician even did 3-D for us! We got to watch her try to put her entire hand in her mouth. She would put her thumb in, and then proceed to try to put more of her hand in her mouth, it was very cute! She seems to have very chubby cheeks. Everything else is checking out great, so we just need to wait for her to get here!!
We are still trying to think of middle names so if anyone has one they like please let us know!!

Hi Everyone! I know it is has been way too long but I am going to really try to do better updating! Caroline's due date is a little over two weeks away. We are feeling as ready as we can with just a few last minute details to cover! We are having an ultrasound this Wed. because the Dr. thinks that she might be big. We are excited and ready for her to arrive!! First I have included a picture of me this is 8.5 month pregnant! I also am posting pictures of her nursery and new toys!

A New School Year

This is the new deck we are building in the back yard! Working on finishing it up!

Things are going well here in Ohio. Last week I started back to work getting ready for a new school year! We had our meet the teacher night last week, and from the looks of things I am really going to have my hands full! I can tell you that this class seems very different from last years! I am hopeful that I just forgot what the kids were like when they came at the beginning of last year. If not there is always an extended maternity leave!! HA HA

The Pregnancy is going well we are now in our 18 week. We will find out in two weeks if we are having a boy or girl. I can not tell what it is all, but I think I am starting to feel it move. I am getting the belly and my belly button is popping out already....it is very strange looking. I am trying to wear very covering clothes because I did not want to tell the parents or kids in my class yet!

Last week Pat and I traveled to Rhode Island to visit Kristy and Matt. We had such a wonderful time! I have included some pictures.

Exciting News!

I know many of you have stopped checking our blog....I believe this might be since I have not posted in over a year! I don't know why it is not not interesting to reread over and over the same post!
I wanted to post Patrick and I exciting news! We are pregnant! We are about 13 weeks along and due the very first of February. Things are going well so far. Two weeks ago we had our first ultrasound which was amazing. I can't believe on something so very small that we could see it fingers and eyes. It was also amazing to watch it move. Lots of flipping and swimming.
Patrick has nicknamed our child Max Power. It has been his favorite name for a very long time. I believe that he has visions of his son on the soccer field saying "Max Power max power now"
We are going to find out the sex as soon as week can. I know this is not the cool thing to do right now but I just can't wait. I can't wait to start saying he or she, and buying gender specific items. We should be able to know in about 7 weeks!
I really have not been too sick a bit of nauseousness, and tired, so I feel really lucky. The only bad thing that happened was during the 4th of July weekend I slipped a disk in my back. I was in so much pain we went the the emergency room. The doctor said there was not much he could do (no pain killers or muscle relaxers allowed) other than to ice and rest. He also told me to be really careful throughout the pregnancy because your joints loosen up to stretch :( I am doing much better now just a little sore!
I promise to do better with updates about what is going on!

Costa Rica

behind me are the volcanic mountains. The day we left Costa Rica suffered a 6.1 magnitude earth quake. We felt the tremors the day before, and heard the volcano rumble. I feel so fortunate that we had left the day of the big quake.
only twelve girls wanted to go to the beach so I got to take them...it was my favorite day there

Jaco Beach

After Christmas the Marshall Swimming team went to Costa Rica. It was a good trip overall and some of the best scenery I have ever seen! We had great training conditions, and got to take two excursions. One day we went to the beach called Jaco...they say it is like South beach but trust me it is nothing like it! The second excursion was a zip lining trip. It was a great team bonding experience.

It has been a long time since our last update...I have received several complaints, so this might be a long update. For all the swim girls you remember how busy this part of swim season is. I will start with Christmas. Luckily this year Patrick was able to get over a week off over Christmas. We decorated our house, and made cookies (the first time), we even cooked a "Christmas dinner" Right before Christmas we went skiing at Snowshoe for three days it was really fun, but freezing! We spent Christmas with both families, sharing time between Toledo, Columbus, and Cleveland. It was a lot of traveling and very busy, but also a great time. Here are some pictures of Christmas.

It has been a really busy fall for Patrick and I. I spent a week in North Carolina as the Marshall University Golf Coach! The coach of the team was about to have a baby and was not able to travel and the AD asked me to go in her place. I have never played golf, or even been out on a golf course before, but I quickly got the hang of things. The girls were really nice, I learned how to drive a golf cart, and it was beautiful being in the Smoky Mountains.

We have also had to have our new car in the shop. Two weeks ago I was driving home from work when a brick fell off of a truck and flew through the air and landed on Black hawks hood. I really could not believe that this was happening to me again. The worst part is that I was not able to get the trucks license plate so we had to pay for the repairs. The good news is we took him to the dealership and the were really nice and easy to work with!

Finally, I chopped off all my hair last week. It was quite and interesting experience due to the fact that the salon I chose was located in a tattoo parlor. I feel this could only happen in West Virginia. While I was getting my hair cut one of the tattoo artist was trying to convince me to let him tattoo me! But I am really happy with how it turned out! I would go back any time. I took 8 inches off! Here are some pictures!

Kristy's Wedding and Boston

Kristy's wedding was such a wonderful time. It was so great to spend some time with her before her big day. She had such an amazing bachlorette party, planned by her friend Jill! After we moved from RI we had a great time in MA! It was so much fun getting to play with all of my IU friends and catchup with everyone! The wedding was beautiful and Kristy and Matt looked so happy! After the wedding Patrick and I went to Boston with Jillian, AJ, Ben, Cassie, Brain, and Tina! We walked the freedom Trail and saw all the sites around Boston. We finished the day with a great Lobster dinner! It was so much fun, with the exception of being lost in Boston a few time :)

Goodbye Spanky

As a wrote before Spanky, my beloved car, was lost to a deer. But the good news is after a lot of searching we have found his replacement. After what I consider great negotiating on my part, and what Patrick considers lying to a dealership, we got a great deal on a Honda CR-V. His color is called Night Hawk Black Pearl, so we have shorten his name to Black Hawk. I sure hope that he is as good as car as Spanky was through the years!

I love reading all of my friends blogs so much I decided to start our own! Pat and I settling back into real life after the excitement of the wedding and honeymoon! We had such a wonderful time at our wedding and a blast on the honeymoon. We have attached some of the pictures from the honeymoon!

Currently we are on the car buying market! After a bad run in with a dear on our way back from the honeymoon Spanky is going to have to be totaled! Don't worry the insurance company reassured me that the dear did not suffer at all during the accident. I felt so much better knowing this due to the fact I was so worried about the dear not my car!!
